NCSG awarded a $10,000 grant to support Care Ring’s efforts to promote GI health among low-income, under/uninsured, medically vulnerable residents of Mecklenburg County. Patients served in the Care Ring Clinic receive GI education and age-appropriate, non-invasive screenings. Those needing additional diagnostic and/or treatment services are enrolled into Physicians Reach Out, Care Ring’s care coordination program, where they are connected to a GI Specialist and receive all needed follow-up, free-of-charge. https://careringnc.org/

NCSG awarded a $10,000 grant to the Western North Carolina Colorectal Cancer Screening Initiative (WNC-CRCSI) to expand access to essential colorectal cancer screening for average-risk individuals across the region.
In 2025, WNC-CRCSI screened more than 130 patients and provided funding for 50 colonoscopies. This grant will help the program reach even more individuals by strengthening patient navigation, reducing barriers such as transportation and cost, and ensuring earlier detection in every community it serves.
This investment will advance equity in cancer care and support efforts that save lives through timely, preventive screening. https://www.mywcms.org/colorectal-cancer-screening-crcsi/
