The mission of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. The Foundation sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality. We also offer a wide range of educational programs for patients and healthcare professionals, while providing supportive services to help people cope with these chronic intestinal diseases. These programs are supported solely through our donors, grants, fundraising efforts, and sponsors.

The Julie M Brown and Christina Gianoplus Colon Cancer Foundation - The Blue Ribbon Run raises funds to find a cure for colorectal cancer, to raise awareness for early detection and prevention, and to help those in the Wilmington community both financially and emotionally who are fighting colorectal cancer. https://theblueribbonrun.org/

PADC connects uninsured persons to donated specialty care. This grant will provide transportation, prep kits, and accompany the patient (if needed), to provide high quality, necessary colonoscopies to vulnerable individuals by reducing the barriers that can cause missed appointments. https://projectaccessdurham.org/

NCSG awarded a $10,000 grant to the Western North Carolina Colorectal Cancer Screening Initiative (WNC-CRCSI) to expand access to essential colorectal cancer screening for average-risk individuals across the region.
In 2025, WNC-CRCSI screened more than 130 patients and provided funding for 50 colonoscopies. This grant will help the program reach even more individuals by strengthening patient navigation, reducing barriers such as transportation and cost, and ensuring earlier detection in every community it serves.
This investment will advance equity in cancer care and support efforts that save lives through timely, preventive screening.
